This Friday event isn't quite a jam or an open mic, though the Friday Front Porch certainly has aspects of both types of shows. Rather, it is a little like a blind date for performance artists. Show up with your musical instrument, a notepad filled with poetry, dancing shoes, art supplies—hell, show up in full mime costume if that's how you roll—and be prepared to collaborate. Theater/dance/performance artist Mankwe Ndosi will play performance match-maker, pairing artists in interesting combinations that will hopefully collaborate, clash, and combine genres and styles in insightful and provocative ways. Not an artist? No problem. Guests are more than welcome to watch what comes of these quick, off-the-cuff sessions. This is part of an ongoing series held every other Friday through spring.
