For Minnesotans, the Mississippi River carries great meaning: With it flows history, economy, and a sense of pride. India carries an even deeper respect for its waters, viewing them as personifications of the gods. This concept of sanctity will be pondered in "Ihrah," Ragamala Dance's latest production. Through fluid movements, live south Indian music, and traditional storytelling, the troupe will explore water as a site of worship and a life-supporting force. Saturday's performance will be followed by Nemaste, a benefit party at the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum (333 E. River Rd., Minneapolis; 612.625.9494).
