Canterbury Park is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and the people at the racetrack are determined to pull out all the stops to put butts in seats. Promotions this season include happy hour drink specials on Fridays, nostalgic looks at the park's most memorable moments on Saturdays, family days on Sundays (complete with free pony rides), and Buck Night Thursdays with $1 hot dogs (they're the fantastic Hormel ones that the Twins ceased serving this year). But none of these events is what will make the 2010 race season at Canterbury over-the-top awesome. That would be the free admission to racing every day all summer long. Yes, there will be no admission charge to any race day. And with racing running three days a week through May and four days most weeks June through August, there are plenty of chances to enjoy a summer evening on the cheap.
