This three-day self-guided tour promises once again to be epic thanks to over 500 artists showcasing their work. Throughout the weekend studios will open their doors, galleries will throw parties, and bars will offer drink specials and expanded music shows. Cool happenings include an opening reception at the Thorp Building (1620 Central Ave.), where from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. guests can enjoy a fashion show featuring threads by Kerry Riley, outdoor visual projections, a model photo shoot, and a $20 art sale benefiting Partners in Giving. All weekend Angel Bomb Design + Letterpress in the Northrup King Building (1500 Jackson St. NE) will give letterpress demonstrations using their vintage machine. At another event of note, Humans Win! Recording Studio (1423 29th Ave NE) plans to open its pink door for the first time ever. Guests will be able to check out the unique space, decorated with pieces from India, as it exhibits visual work by artists active in the music industry (jewelry worn by Cyndi Lauper is also set to be on display). Other things going on include free acupuncture and photography at Northeast Community Acupuncture (1224 Second St NE), a weekend-long multimedia party at the Grain Belt Building (79 13th Ave. NE), and music shows at the 331 Club (331 13th Ave. NE) Friday and Saturday and at Grumpy's (2200 Fourth St. NE) Saturday. You can pick up a map at the welcoming booths at 13th and Marshall or Quincy Street and Broadway, or hop on the free trolley that will be rolling around to the main hot spots Saturday and Sunday.
