Flowers After Hours: Hello Tokyo!

Though there are many fun events happening over this four-day festival combining art from the permanent collection with professional floral displays, this evening's party exploring Japanese pop culture looks to be the coolest bang for your buck. Tonight MCAD professor and author Frenchy Lunning will discuss the wide (and wild) world of manga. Guests can also check out street fashion, dance to pop, and watch anime shorts from Japan. There will also be a sake tasting and talk beginning at 6 p.m., so be sure to call and RSVP if you're interested.

I think combining flower arrangements with classic art pieces is so great. It is a way of combining the cherished past with the fresh present. I bet a lot of those florists were thrilled to have their pieces set up with those art pieces.
