Hi Kids! A Retrospective of Twin Cities Children's TV

For some of us grown-ups the cartoons we watched as kids are a distant memory. Our programming was long-gone before VHS was common, and finding clips on YouTube is pretty rare. This is especially true of local children's shows, which don't have a large enough audience to justify DVD releases. But at this special evening at Heights Theater, you may find a piece of your childhood again. If you remember who the heck Roundhouse Rodney, Casey Jones, Axel, Towser, Grandpa Ken, Skipper Daryl, Johnny .44, and Mel Jass are, then this is the evening for you. They will be screening rare footage of Twin Cities children's television shows throughout the night, including some episodes that haven't been seen since airing. You'll also be able to meet some characters in person, Allan Lotsberg (Willie Ketchem), Mary Davies (Carmen the Nurse), and Daryl Laub (T.N. Tatters) are scheduled to appear. All proceeds benefit the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting in St Louis Park. Tickets available at www.pavekmuseum.org/hikids1.html.
