Combining the words "rock star" with "storytellers" may sound like an oxymoron, but we assure you it is not. While other popular storytellers on the circuit focus on traditions in the genre, the RockStar Storytellers look to pop culture, to twenty-to-thirty-something sensibilities, and to contemporary books for inspiration. So far they have poked fun at and expounded on the virtues and vices of erotica, horror, and the self-help sections of the bookstore. At this month's installment artists will explore the esteemed works found in chick lit, a category of writing overflowing with ugly ducklings made beautiful and young women who have wacky adventures on the way to finding true love, and who succeed at everything they do, but only after they learn to believe in themselves.
