Kurt Metzger

Americans seem to enjoy British comics, but how do our comedians do over there? Not bad, according to Kurt Metzger, who just returned from a series of shows in the United Kingdom. "I had a great time there," he reports. "I'd never been there before. It went very well; it was a very cool experience." The only downside was that he had to adjust his set for British audiences. "I have about an hour and half of material here, and about 20 minutes there," he laughs. He'd go back in an instant though. "Their money is worth double our money! If you go work the clubs over there, you come back rich because our money is like Mexican money over there." A former animation student (he dropped out to pursue standup), Metzger will appear in Comedy Central's new animated series Ugly Americans. "Man, it's so great," he insists. "I haven't seen a full episode yet, I've just seen the clips. They're funny, so hopefully it will all be funny. Almost no cartoon is funny its first season, but this could be." 18+; 21+ later shows.
Wednesdays-Sundays, 8 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 10:30 p.m. Starts: March 17. Continues through March 21, 2010
