Sexting. Tijuana Bibles. Pregnancy sex. None of these subjects are typical of most best-of collections, but those three things and more are highlighted in this year's Best Sex Writing 2010. This is not a collection of erotica, but rather the strongest and most thought-provoking essays and sex journalism published this year. Pieces were selected from a wide variety of sources, including online journals, blogs, magazines, business publications, and newspapers. So don't expect to see any cheesy characters using strong, romantic language. Instead, each chapter is a true adventure, one where contributors search for the thinnest rubbers while exploring the condom industry, explain how Twlight works as abstinence porn, or take a trip to a BDSM porn set. To celebrate the its publication, editor Rachel Kramer Bussel and local contributor Diana Joseph will discuss the collection. The event will also include a sex-toy raffle with prizes from the Smitten Kitten, live music by erotic bluegrass band Courtney McClean and the Dirty Curls, and free tasty cupcakes by Cake Eater Bakery.
