After Hours Preview Party: Abstract Resistance

Celebrate the Walker Art Center's latest exhibition, "Abstract Resistance," with some style and swagger at the After Hours Preview Party. The bash kicks off the show, which features 40 works from the second half of the 20th century to the present. The collection flies in the face of artistic tradition, flipping the bird to old-school, lackluster limits. Political and social undertones illuminate the aesthetically intriguing works throughout the exhibit. Those attending After Hours will be among the first to check it out. Providing the soundtrack for the evening is Sovietpanda, spinning his signature palpitating electronic dance beats, as well as Kill the Vultures, with their raw, avant-hip-hop-infused sounds. In addition, selections from the experimental cinema of George Landow will be screening at 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The evening will also feature a cash bar, along with complimentary snacks from Wolfgang Puck's Asian-influenced California cuisine. Party People Pictures will capture all the memorable moments. (Kill the Vultures photo by Daniel Corrigan)
