Bird x Bird

Now in its eighth year, this benefit party combines avian expertise with art. Each year a dozen or so local and national artists are provided information collected from the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary and the Audubon Center of the North Woods. The art they create is not only bird-themed, but often inspired by hard data as well, be it information on birds that have been rehabbed at the center or unique bird sightings noted by enthusiastic birders on the premises. The resulting pieces range widely in tone and concept; some are humorous while others are environmentally thoughtful. Some pieces contain real birds, while other artists choose to create entirely new creatures of flight and feather. This Saturday guests can check out the resulting works at this benefit party, the proceeds of which help fund programs, events, and wildlife rehabilitation at the above-mentioned locations. Bid on your favorite piece at the silent auction and enjoy music by Mary Klueh and Norman Andersen. (Art work by Jennifer Davis)
