If celebrity documentaries and tell-all biographies have taught us one thing, it is that the reality behind the beautiful façade of stardom is rarely glamorous. This is a theme explored in local artist and critics' favorite Andréa Stanislav's latest show, "Lightning Struck Itself." Though she has touched on the glitter and shine of stars and pop-culture icons before, this exhibit wanders into darker (still sparkling) waters, contrasting disillusionment with utopian ideals. Stanislav prefers to work with reflective, light surfaces that twinkle back at us, but will we like what we see? Grab a drink at the bar first if you are wary of reflections.
