Stones in His Pockets

Marie Jones's Stones in His Pockets is set in contemporary rural Ireland, where a small village is set upon by a Hollywood production in search of "authenticity," oblivious to the fact that the locals have already been dispossessed of much of their land and culture. The play is written for two performers who are asked to tackle more than a dozen roles, in a seat-of-the-pants-with-precision paradigm seemingly suited for the guerilla expertise of Ten Thousand Things. This production will be aided along nicely by its cast, Jim Lichtscheidl and Steven Epp, two guys who can swing between wrenching drama and spit-take comedy while making it look effortless. Expect ample snap, crackle, and even pop. For tickets call 1.800.838.3006 or visit www.tenthousandthings.org.
Fridays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: Jan. 15. Continues through Jan. 31, 2010
