Proudly boasting on its MySpace page that the event offers drinking, drawing, and debauchery, Dr. Sketchy Twin Cities promises to be more exciting than your regular anatomy drawing class. No, the models aren't nude, but they are certainly interesting. In the past subjects have included contortionists, body builders, and roller derby girls. Today's muse will be Giza Sangria, a belly dancer and burlesque performer with an interest in Bollywood, comics, and wild hair dye. Though those with formal experience are often in attendance, people who haven't worked creatively since Drawing 101 in high school are also welcome. Bring supplies, or borrow some from event organizers and test your skills as different themes and challenges come up during the event. Participants can win drinks and art supplies if they excel at one of the contests, which may include drawing with the left hand (lefties must draw with the right), incorporating elephants, or best capturing difficult poses.
