Los Angeles punk vet Robert Lopez obviously loves Yanqui/Anglo pop but not American power, which makes his richly ironic Vegas-style rock y roll extravaganza perfect for the holidays' lubricated mix of social impulses and kitsch. Flanked as always by the lovely El Vettes, with enough pop musical references to fill a book, he's backed this time by surf-rock openers Los Straitjackets, who dress like Mexican wrestlers and have as much flair for all things Christmas (or Mex-Mas) as El Vez himself. 18+.
