As of this writing there were still tickets available for In the Heart of the Beast's La Natividad, and as we veer deeper into the holidays this blend of puppetry and street theater represents a soulful affirmation in the face of commercialism. You will traverse Lake Street, accompanied by your fellow audience members, following in the footsteps of Maria and José as they seek shelter in the night. The evening ends with a candlelit outdoor procession, then refreshments and a sense of having experienced something transcendent. Part theater, part puppetry, part public happening, La Natividad is a welcoming, earnest celebration of the season and life itself, a reminder of the finer textures of existence and why life and the five senses can be beautiful things indeed.
