Jimmie Roulette

More About

After performing at his first open mic 11 years ago, Jimmie Roulette got a surprising reaction from his wife. "She said I should quit my job and see what happens, which is very odd for a wife to give that kind of support. So we picked up management and took off." The former security guard has never looked back. He's now to the point where he has what comedy aficionados call a signature bit, that being a bit about gummy bears. "I love that bit, the crowd loves it. I got a T-shirt from it." He's also getting more personal and talking about his family, something his relatives not only don't mind, but encourage. "They actually love it," he insists. "They want it. I resisted talking about my family and my wife's family because I didn't want to offend anybody, but they want me to tell jokes about them." Some are even feeling left out. "My brother-in-law's family lives in Iowa. He wonders when I'm going to talk about them. I told him, 'When you see something later on the TV, don't be mad at me.'" 18+. (Photo by Gino Martino)
