Subject of more than one City Pages online slideshow, this hot-and-bothered monthly dance party at Bedlam Theatre is a happy collision of three TC cultural forces: Shannon Blowtorch, the renaissance DJ who helped launch the cool but short-lived lesbian club Pi; BRLSQOTHEQUE, the hip-hop/dance-music label offshoot of Burlesque Design, who brought you the Dre Day celebration of Dr. Dre's birthday; and Bedlam itself, whose West Bank location since 2007, in the former Baja Riverside/Knickerbockers building near the light-rail stop, is stunning—the kind of gorgeous-century-old-building-turned-punk-club you find in, say, New Orleans, but rarely here. The experimental theater-turned-cabaret-bar-restaurant also features Polish fusion cuisine and an upstairs patio with a skyline view. The dance night features an array of DJs in the main room and fireplace lounge, with a late-night happy hour and menu. 18+. (Photo by Chris Daffin)
