There's nothing like a good party to start the weekend off right, and Walker After Hours usually throws a pretty excellent bash. This one should be no exception. The music lineup is great, and features the electro duo Lookbook, as well as a sneak peak at tomorrow's big show with Afro-Cuban drummer Dafnis Prieto and his wife, dancer Judith Sanchez Ruiz. They'll be giving two improv performances during the night. DJ Scott Stulen will be adding to the musical ambience as well in the Cargill Lounge. In addition to appetizers and cocktails, guests can enjoy a screening of Kenneth Anger's Scorpio Rising (1963) featuring pop music from the era, rebel bikers getting ready for an event, and discarded film clips layered together into one colorful filmic fruit salad. Revelers can also check out previews of two new art exhibitions featuring pieces from the permenent collection: "Event Horizon" is an extensively ongoing exhibit exploring post-war art and the events that led to their creation, while "Benches & Binochulars" pairs over 120 works in unexpected ways.
