Making Music: Lazerbeak

Following appearances by Roma di Luna and the Dillinger Four's Erik Funk, the Whole Music Club is presenting the final event of the fall semester's "Making Music" interview series at the University of Minnesota. Best known for his production on some of the Doomtree crew's most vibrant tracks, from 1995-2008 Aaron "Lazerbeak" Mader also acted as the guitarist and vocalist for Minneapolis rockers the Plastic Constellations. Most recently he released a collaborative effort with Doomtree's Mike Mictlan, titled Hand Over Fist, and laid down beats for P.O.S.'s breakout album, Never Better (Rhymesayers). Mader will discuss these releases, his work on Doomtree members Dessa and Sims's new records, the forthcoming Doomtree Blowout, and the potential of a Plastic Constellations reunion. Now in its fifth year, "Making Music" is a long-format discussion series hosted by local musician JG Everest. Past editions have also featured performance pieces and a Q&A with the audience. All ages.
