This Saturday, Barnes & Noble in Maple Grove will host a local-author marathon with a bevy of popular scribes in the same place reading from their latest books. Just about every genre will be represented during the day of hourly readings, from sports books including Bob Showers's poignant Met Stadium retrospective The Twins at the Met, to Raghavan Iyer (the executive chef at the new restaurant Om) discussing his mind-bogglingly comprehensive 660 Curries. With political authors, mystery writers, nature authors, and memoirists, the Local Author Showcase provides the local literati with a rare opportunity to see a complete display of what the area's best writers are producing. For a complete schedule of when each writer is talking and signing, check out the Barnes & Noble website. (Photo by striatic)
