The Great American Trailer Park Musical

The artists of Minneapolis Musical Theatre in recent years have, most of the time, deftly sidestepped potential accusations of taking themselves too seriously. They've brought us a musical Jerry Springer, the queer splendor of Zanna, Don't!, and the resolutely daft Chess (which, if memory serves, only kind of pretended to buy into its own silly intrigues). Now they bring us a musical celebrating the rich and varied culture of the American trailer park, which promises to be cheerily offensive, jauntily vulgar, and delivered with pleasing panache. It's still theater, however, so you will have to wear a shirt. Sorry to disappoint. (Photo by Laurie Etchen)
Thursdays-Sundays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 2:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 6. Continues through Nov. 22, 2009
