Look out: Minneapolis is about to get decadent. The Affair with the Chocolate Extravaganza is back again this year, showcasing the finest chocolate, fashion, wine, food, and entertainment just in time to help with any sumptuous holiday soirees you're planning. The festivities at the Convention Center begin with the Expo, an exhibition of truffles and wine tastings (limited in number, they're "first come, first sip"). Pastry chefs will be on hand for a competition, and there will be a fashion show featuring clothes decorated with chocolate. The Vault, happening on both days of the event, is a true oenophile's delight, with wine tastings, pairing demonstrations, bread, and cheese. But if you're really looking for something special, you cannot miss the Progressive on Saturday evening at the luxurious Ivy Hotel. Attendees will be treated to a meal from chef Joan Ida, followed by a nightcap gathering with a live auction benefiting People Serving People, a shelter serving homeless families.
