Norm Macdonald

Norm Macdonald has found success in several comedy formats, transitioning from standup to Saturday Night Live, then moving on to an acting career after a public falling out with the show, purportedly over his weekly savaging of O.J. Simpson. He's since appeared in several movies, including a star turn in the cult semi-classic Dirty Work, fronted a sitcom or two, and voiced talking animals in kids' movies. But the wry comedian, whose sarcasm is so thick it almost comes all the way back around to sincerity, is at his best when freed from the confines of a character or plot, just being himself. Some of his most memorable work has come on random television appearances—harassing Regis on Millionaire, baiting Barbara Walters on The View, and riffing on Carrot Top during a classic guest spot on Conan O'Brien's old show. That bodes well for his upcoming performance at the House of Comedy, where there will be no filter on his amiably ambling conversational style and bone-dry wit. (Photo by playerx)
