This year has seen a lot of pairings between music and the circus; both Pink and Britney Spears's current albums and tours are big-top themed. But tonight's Rock & Roll Circus draws more inspiration from the Rolling Stones flick, as opposed to dead-eyed pop stars looking for an excuse to wear a sparkly leotard in public. Here you will find spectacles to dazzle your eye, as opposed to pop-music circuses that numb the brain. Bearded ladies, a marching band, stilt walkers, jugglers, hula-hoopers, and even a flying stuntman will walk (or soar, or tower) among guests in the lobby beforehand. Then, at the stroke of 8 p.m., there will be rock. Theatrical Los Angeles indie band Saint Motel will take the stage, as will local rockers Bella Koshka and First Communion Afterparty. In between music sets, Lili's Burlesque will entertain with their dancing ladies, as will Ned the Magnificent, a man who can do crazy things with a folding chair. Ian Rans from Drinking with Ian will play ringmaster, and a dance party with DJ Dig Dug follows the show.
