David Feldman

"The country has gotten incredibly stupid," says comedian and comedy writer David Feldman. "I find it disheartening how dumb the country has gotten." Go ahead, get him started. "You get the young people at these rallies in Washington, D.C., talking about healthcare and calling Barack Obama a Nazi, socialist, fascist, which are mutually exclusive terms." People's opposition to healthcare reform and those who blindly follow Glenn Beck also irk the San Francisco native. That doesn't he mean he still can't have a few laughs. "When I see how stupid this country is, I sometimes wonder why I bothered to dodge the draft." Feldman is looking forward to coming to the Twin Cities, though, where audiences tend to be a bit brighter, and where he doesn't have to dumb down his act. "I do what I do, and when the country is stupid, you're benefiting nobody by pretending otherwise." Of course it's not all about politics. For example, Feldman discusses the state of newspapers during his set. "The Daily Planet is cutting back," he reports. "They've stopped running The Adventures of Superman." 18+.
