Given our current economic climate, a party celebrating the 1930s might seem more appropriate. However, something tells me standing in line for bread and eating canned beans wouldn't be a very good time. Instead, this Saturday, Jungle Red hosts a party that pays homage to a decade that always conjures fun: the 1920s. Throw on your best flapper gear, rouge your knees, hide that hip flask, and be prepared to have a good time dancing to tunes (the Lindy Hop and Charleston are welcome, though not required). Dave "Rube" Kelsey Bassett will be mixing music from the era with swing, hip hop, house, electro, and bop. Lili's Burlesque will give a special performance, as will musical troupe Jazz Dudes. After working up a sweat on the dance floor, order up a cocktail or snack on appetizers from Solera.
