Sever's Corn Maze & Fall Festival

You know the J.R.R. Tolkien saying, "Not all who wanders are lost"? That mantra probably doesn't apply at this corn maze, now in its 13th year. It's an uneasy number considering the likelihood that you will lose your way at some point in this epic sea of agriculture, but keep in mind that not everyone who is lost is having a bad time, either. From a helicopter view, the maze is clearly pirate-themed; a compass and boat are cut into the field. At ground level it looks like an overgrown corn jungle. Guests are asked to search for clues from Cap'n Sever (no relation to Cap'n Crunch) in order to win various prizes. After you make it out, you can enjoy other activities as well, including live music, a hay maze for kids, exotic animals, a giant slide, and a pumpkin slinger. People who enjoy sticking their hands into barrels of beans or wheat should check out the corn pit, where you can wade through a vat of kernels.
Saturdays, Sundays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; Oct. 15-16, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: Sept. 19. Continues through Nov. 1, 2009
