"I'm suspended in the nebula of that middle part of show business, where I'm not a failure and I'm not a celebrity," reports comedian/writer Greg Fitzsimmons, "and it's nice." The veteran comic has just started a podcast to supplement his one-hour program on Howard Stern's Sirius satellite channel. "The show always ended with the guest going, 'That's it, it's only an hour?'" The Greg Fitzsimmons Podcast now picks up where the radio show leaves off. Both gigs have offered a new dimension to his standup and vice versa. "I feel that radio has helped me go further into being more conversational onstage and letting whatever happens happen." That includes dealing with some unsolicited audience participation. "I really love hecklers," Fitzsimmons insists, "and I say it at the beginning of the show, 'If you wanna heckle, God bless, you bring it on.' Not in a confrontational way, but I don't want 400 people sitting in a room shutting up and hanging on my every thought. I'm not that funny. But when the audience gets involved, funny shit happens." 18+.
