If you're the type of person who goes to several shows a year, you've probably caught at least one—whether at a hole-in-the-wall club or a massive arena—that sucked because one (or all) of the performers took to the stage stupid sloppy drunk. But Prof & Rahzwell succeed by working counterintuitively: We're talking about dudes who decided that the best course of promotional action for their long-awaited, self-released album Recession Music was to give it away for free, and that worked out well for pretty much everybody. (Especially listeners; turns out it's arguably the best local rap record of the summer.) So of course they're going to make an entertaining night out of performing under the effects of severe inebriation. In fact, they're actually making a bit of a challenge out of it, daring show-goers to order the nastiest, most questionable beverages for Prof to consume. This is the third installment of a tradition that started at the late, lamented Dinkytowner, and if it's the last—promotional materials claim this is the show that will "destroy Prof and Rahzwell"—at least you can't say they didn't go out in a blaze of glory and/or vodka.
