Although there is no Hmong word for art, that does not mean that it doesn't exist. The fact that this art festival is in its eighth year seems to suggest that not only is there Hmong art, but that it is flourishing. This Saturday, festival-goers can check out a variety of paintings, sculptures, and more by locals, including juried work by five artists. There will be both traditional and contemporary live music and dance on the main stage, including a singer-songwriter contest. Additional activities include a cake decorating contest, family activities, and an area set aside for kids and teens in the community looking to get creative.
