The 20% Theatre Company Twin Cities opens its latest season with After Juliet by Sharman MacDonald. It's set in the immediate aftermath of Romeo and Juliet's famed doomed and fatal romantic entanglement, in which the Montagues and Capulets have agreed to stop behaving like Shakespearean Hatfields and McCoys, although the younger set gives in to the imperatives of hormones, honor, and what have you. History having a tendency to repeat itself, particularly in matters of the heart, one supposes that some blood will be shed and multiple hearts broken along the way. Those of us with a knowledge of history have a dismaying tendency to reenact it; other characters, in other stories, may well feel the pull even more mightily. (photo by Claire Avitabile)
