Originally scheduled to be earlier this month in Brooklyn Park, this year's Afrifest is in St. Louis Park instead. Despite the sudden move, there appears to be an expansion of activities, including a kids' area with family-friendly activities and games. The event will also be a celebration of African and African American culture. Along with historical displays there will be live music, fashion shows, and other performances. Guests can sample African food or check out the marketplace for art and other wares. For more info visit www.afrifest.org or call 612.281.6318. (photo by alex.coles)
