In the summertime it is probably possible to bike a mile in any direction on the weekend and find a block party. Though they are as plentiful as lakes, they're still a pretty good time. In fact, in many ways they even trump the other weekend event: the art fair. Block parties usually involve walking there from your home, so you don't have to deal with traffic. There aren't typically vendors selling wares, so you're not going to walk away with some $50 purchase you'll regret in the morning. And the music is almost always free. Pizza Lucé Block Party matches this criteria perfectly. Plus, the crowds should be manageable, as most people will be over at the Uptown Art Fair. Show up anytime throughout the day to listen to local music, including rappers MC/VL, drum-heavy rock duo Kid Dakota, and hip-hop/R&B/reggaeton showstopper Maria Isa. Ian Rans of Drinking with Ian will play host. There will also be activities for kids, including a dunk tank. And yes, there will be beer and pizza. (pictured: Maria Isa)
