Uptown Market

Minneapolis is loaded with farmers' markets. Strangely enough, those markets seem to be located either further to the east or downtown. For whatever reason such happenings seem be sparse around the Uptown area (though there are a few sort of in the area, such as the Kingfield Farmers' Market just a bit farther south). So the newer Uptown Market should be an interesting event to check out this Sunday. All vendors will be local, all organizers volunteers. Vendors will include small businesses, cooks and local chefs selling prepared food, farmers offering fresh greens, artists offering handmade items, sellers of vintage clothing and antiques, and more. Located close to the Greenway, the market is an just easy bike ride or walk away if you live in the area. At this point the market is scheduled to be monthly, but should things go as planned, it will eventually be a weekly event. For more info visit uptownmarket.org.
