If you're a geek and you live in Minnesota, let's face it, you probably already know about CONvergence. After all, it's the biggest nerd hoedown the state has to offer. The convention features oodles of themed rooms from Star Trek to Guitar Hero, games of every stripe for anyone to join, and in the evening, tankards of ever-flowing booze. There's a DJ dance party and panel discussions on subjects ranging from fourth edition Dungeons and Dragons to feminism in fantasy. A movie theater will be running your favorite nerd films for the duration, and a room of vendors provides a perfect spot to look for a new pair of steampunk goggles or a claymore. A whole host of famous folks will be showing up to take part in panels, sign autographs, and party down with the rest of the friendly, welcoming crowd. So if this is the first you've heard of CONvergence, never fear—everyone who shows up is happy to make you feel at home in the land of the geeks.
