In honor of the most famous individual to come from Brooklyn Center (he did after all, found the State Highway Patrol), the suburb throws a festival each year throughout the city. Events begin this Thursday with a parade down Dupont Avenue from 59th Street to 69th. On Friday there will be a senior golf tournament as well as a birthday party for Dunkin the Dolphin at Central Park, with free food, music, and other activities. Saturday there will be a craft and business expo in central park, with family performances and activities throughout the day, live music, and fireworks around 10 p.m. For more info call 763.569.3400 or visit www.cityofbrooklyncenter.org for a complete list of activities and locations.
