In honor of the most famous individual to come from Brooklyn Center (he did after all, found the State Highway Patrol), the suburb throws a festival each year throughout the city. Events begin this Thursday with a parade down Dupont Avenue from 59th Street to 69th. On Friday there will be a senior golf tournament as well as a birthday party for Dunkin the Dolphin at Central Park, with free food, music, and other activities.
