It's been a depressing year so far for American car manufacturers, and it's gotten so bad that it's hard not to wonder if what we are seeing is an end to an era. So it's understandable that auto maniacs would desire to return to the '50s, a time when the industry was booming. This weekend you can ogle over 10,000 revamped, re-created, and re-imagined street rods, custom cars, Deuces (a 1932 Ford), and more. Chat with proud owners of shiny, colorful vehicles as well as other works-in-progress. The event will also feature live music, swap meets, children's activities, arts and crafts, and the Ladies' Showcase, where women can travel back to the '50s as well through home and fashion shows. Do you live in fear of sitting in gridlocked traffic on Snelling while trying to get to the show? Fear not, there will be several free park-and-ride locations as well as a $3 shuttle running to and from the Mall of America. For more info visit www.msra.com or call 651.641.1992.
