Minneapolis MOSAIC: Opening Night Kick-Off

Now in its seventh year, the Minneapolis MOSAIC is a huge, city-wide, summer-long festival that showcases the full spectrum of art and culture in Minneapolis. The opening block party, aptly titled "Many Worlds. One Night," will be packed with over 40 theater, dance, and music performers on the streets, on the roofs, and inside venues. Acts this year include dance troupe Ballet de Camara del Estado de Morelos from Minneapolis's sister state Morelos, Mexico, at Pantages Theatre; Batucada Do Norte Drum Group on the main stage on Eighth Street; and Minneapolis-inspired photography by Shoebox Gallery curator and founder Sean Smuda. Festival attendees can also fill up on tasty treats from the restaurants of Midtown Global Market and Mill City Farmers' Market, and budding athletes from toddlers to teens can enjoy hands-on activities with the YMCA and Minnesota Lynx.
