Over the past 20 years, standup comedian Fancy Ray McCloney has run for Minnesota governor (as a part of the People's Champion party), filmed countless YouTube-worthy commercials, hosted his own cable access show, and tussled on national television with the Hoff on America's Got Talent. And through it all, he has always been the "the best-lookin' man in comedy." To celebrate 20 years of laughs, his fanciness has come home to the Twin Cities to perform every Friday and Saturday night in May at Scott Hansen's Comedy Gallery. With jokes like Richard Pryor, style like Little Richard, and sweat glands like, well, Fancy Ray, the "human chocolate orchid" (his words, not ours) is back onstage to deliver his own brand of off-the-wall comedy. While appearing on Talent, Ray preached to the panel of celebrity judges: "I'm a present to the whole world!" But is he really? Come unwrap Fancy Ray's package and find out for yourself.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8:30 p.m. Starts: May 1. Continues through May 30, 2009
