The corner of Lake Street and Lyndale Avenue has been pretty messy the past two summers; sidewalks were closed, two lanes became one, and signs hung outside of buildings begging neighbors to support local businesses during construction. Thankfully, the project to improve Lake Street around the area has come to an end. In celebration of our fancy new sidewalks and left-hand turn lanes, the Lyn Lake Street Fest has returned. During the day festival-goers can enjoy food and drink from local tastemakers like Fuji Ya, Galactic Pizza, Summit beer, and Peace Coffee. Try out hair extensions by the Hair Police or watch a printmaking demonstration by the Highpoint Center for Printmaking at their new location at 912 West Lake Street. Local acts will be performing live music throughout the day as well, including Solid Gold. Also neat: ALT Bike Shop will have a racecourse set up for kids and parents.
