Sure, dandelions are a weed, cause epic hay fever, and mess up otherwise well-groomed lawns, but some people love villains—and not just love to hate them, but love to love them. This may be at the root of Dandelion Day, which celebrates Harriet Godfrey bringing the dandelion to Minnesota. Gee, thanks. Why would she do such a thing? Apparently she had a penchant for dandelion bread and tea. This Sunday guests are invited to the Ard Godfrey House, the oldest wood-frame home in Minneapolis, to take tours, make dandelion necklaces, and even take home a few recipes. Got allergies? Bring your Zyrtec, Flonase, or Claritin, and lots of it.
