WineFest

Over the past 14 years, the University of Minnesota's WineFest has raised over $7 million for the program's pediatrics department and the Amplatz Children's Hospital, where physicians work to treat and cure childhood diseases. In a toast to good health, this year's WineFest will focus on wines from the Pacific Northwest, a region known for its vineyards. The party commences Friday with a talk and tasting. Chateau Ste. Michelle head winemaker Bob Bertheau and Cold Creek vineyard manager Marshall Edwards will discuss the full wine experience, from the field to the bottle to the tongue, as well as Washington state's rich history in viticulture. Later in the evening at the Grand Tasting, guests can enjoy over 400 varieties from the region along with food from local restaurants. Saturday's events include silent and live auctions, live music, dancing, wine talks by experts, and a multi-course gourmet meal.
