If you think about it, bonsai tree growers and moms have a lot in common. They both care for a fragile life from a young age. They tend to it, feed it at the right time each day, make sure it's hydrated, and ultimately watch it grow into something they are proud of. Then they show it off, and have it compete against others. And once it's fully grown, they continue to pick at it, and never leave it alone. If this sounds appealing, check out some of the best Minnesota-grown bonsai trees from the Minnesota Bonsai Society this Mother's Day weekend at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory.
