Hauser Dance: Roots and Branches

Hauser Dance's spring concert features three generations of choreography by the late Nancy Hauser, her daughter Heidi Jasmin, and longtime Hauser Dance company members. Hauser's duet "Romanza" showcases the great dance pioneer's lyrical flow of movement and meticulous musicality. By contrast, Jasmin's witty "The Ladies Quartet," performed to a collage of street sounds by composer Bruce Wintervold, proves that women can do a man's work. The concert includes new solos by Jasmin, Pam Gleason, and Diane Moncrieff, as well as the incomparably idiosyncratic Michael Yonkers, who will dance to a Puccini aria and perform his own music. "Spring Dance," a multigenerational improvisation, features students from the Children's Creative Movement and Ageless classes.
