Walker After Hours Preview Party: The Quick and the Dead

If you need any more proof that the oft-repeated Benjamin Franklin quote, "In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes," is still true, look no further than the Walker. After mailing off a fat check to Uncle Sam last week, you can get a healthy dose of death in the Walker's latest exhibit, "The Quick and the Dead." The show explores the parameters of passing on through the works of 53 international artists in varying mediums. This edition of the Walker's After Hours Preview Party features the usual appetizers and cocktails, along with short film screenings, art projects for grownups, and live music. Local, eerie rockers To Kill a Petty Bourgeoisie will perform their ghostly brand of tunes, and DJ Leonardo will spin. Be sure to grab a chance to be kind-of famous on the Walker website by having your photo taken for the Party People Pictures.
Fri., April 24, 9 p.m.-midnight, 2009
