Open Eye Figure Theatre continues its mission of being the best dream space in town, here with an assortment of puppetry designed to raise our consciousness of the state of toy theater today (and, as always, to divert, entertain, and fuel the substance of what goes on behind our eyelids after bedtime). Featured in these shows are Chicago artists Michael Montenegro and Seth Bockley, along with locals Michael Sommers, Daniel Polnau, and Liz Schachterle. This night of puppet storytelling promises humor, surrealism, a bit of sleight-of-hand, and perhaps an escape into the larger realm of what really matters (hint: it lies someplace between ideas and language, and doesn't understand the concept of the dollar sign). Kids approximately eight and up should dig the proceedings.
Thursdays, Fridays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 & 8 p.m. Starts: March 26. Continues through March 28, 2009
