It might seem counterintuitive to fuse fashion with dance. Sure, they're both visually stimulating art mediums, however, fashion is often fussy; it can restrict movement, and hinder performance. However, a marriage of swimwear and dance makes perfect sense: Swimwear is sparse, fitted, and made for body movement. The appropriately named nightclub, Aqua, will host a party that celebrates both swimsuits and dance in one spectacular show. Members of ARENA Dances will walk the runway wearing the hottest swimwear styles for 2009. In between strutting and posing, dancers will break out in performances choreographed by artistic director Mathew Janczewski. Add specialty cocktails, appetizers, and music by Alexander East, and you have the hottest party of the season. Sunscreen is optional. All proceeds benefit non-profit ARENA Dances.
