Much like Oktoberfest, St. Patrick's Day is a great opportunity for bars to get at your hard-earned dollars with a weak-sauce holiday celebration. Nailing clover and leprechaun detritus to the ceiling? Fail. Creating an Irish Bud and Bud Light happy hour? Terrible. Charging more at the door for the same old dance night? Lame. Despite these desperate attempts to be holiday-relevant, there are still many bars throwing kick-ass parties today. For example, there's the Seventh Annual St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl. This day-long pub crawl, which runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., will feature bus rides to the best Irish bars including the Liffey, Kieran's, and Sweeney's Saloon. The best part? The $40 it takes to reserve your spot benefits the Finnegans Community Fund (to sign up or view a complete route visit www.finnegans.org or call 612.338.2288).
Tue., March 17, 1-6 p.m., 2009
