Best Picture Showcase

Are you the type who rarely goes out to the movies? Do you often find yourself with nothing to contribute when friends chat about the latest flicks? Here's your chance to achieve relevance with a crash course in recent prestigious cinema. This Saturday, AMC movie theaters will screen all five movies nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture in one epic marathon. Wake up and roll into the theater by 10:30 a.m. Milk will kick off the day, followed by The Reader, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Slumdog Millionaire, and the grand finale, Frost/Nixon, which starts at 9:45 p.m. This all comes with a bottomless bucket of popcorn, and if Brad Pitt reverse-aging freaks you out, no worries; you can come and go as you please. Remember, though, relevance is fleeting: You might be knowledgeable at that Oscar party Sunday night, but the 2009 movie season rolls on.
Sat., Feb. 21, 10:30-midnight, 2009
